Presenting Issues
Being integratively trained means that I have a wide knowledge of different counselling theories, which I can use and adapt to suit clients individual needs.
I have worked with people experiencing loss and bereavement, depression, anxiety, anger management, low self-confidence and self-esteem issues, various forms of abuse and many other issues.
Confidentiality
This is a key aspect of the counselling relationship. Everything discussed in the counselling sessions is kept in the strictest confidence. My work is bound within it's Code of Ethics and Good Practice. I have the responsibility and commitment to work under regular supervision. From time to time I may need to share and discuss some of the information in our sessions with a qualified supervisor, always under a strict confidential and professional framework. The client identity is always kept anonymous.Confidentiality can only be broken when there is evidence that the client may harm him/herself or others. In this case the counsellor will most likely contact the appropriate services. The client will be informed in advance, and only in case of an imminent threat might the counsellor make the decision without consulting the client.
Please inform the counsellor at the beginning of the sessions of any medical treatment you might be following due to emotional difficulties.
